On land, every movement creates impact and pressure on your joints and spine. In the water, this pressure virtually disappears. The natural buoyancy of water supports your body, creating a weightless environment that allows you to move freely and without pain.
At the same time, water provides a unique, 360-degree resistance. This gentle, consistent pressure means you are strengthening muscles with every movement, but without the strain of weights or land-based exercises. This powerful combination of support and resistance makes the pool the perfect, safe space to rebuild strength, improve mobility, and accelerate your recovery.
At Dreamer Swim Academy, our Aquatic Fitness Coaches are equipped with a deep knowledge of specific exercises designed to leverage these unique properties of water. They understand how to use the water's resistance to build strength, its buoyancy to improve your range of motion, and its gentle pressure to support you. This expertise allows them to create a highly tailored and effective session that is perfectly aligned with your personal recovery goals.
We see ourselves as a partner in your recovery journey, and that partnership begins with a foundation of safety and open communication.
Our process is simple and responsible. First, we always encourage you to seek your doctor's or physiotherapist's advice and share any of their recommended activities with us. Following that, during your initial inquiry, we'll listen to you and invite you to share any details about your recovery or medical background that you are comfortable with.
Based on this complete picture, we will design a specific one-on-one sessions. The movement will be precise and targeted, facilitating a safe and effective recovery journey.
Yes, we highly recommend it. For any pre-existing medical condition or post-surgery recovery, it's essential you consult with your doctor or physiotherapist before starting. We are happy to work within their recommendations.
No. We are not licensed physiotherapists. We are expert coaches who specialize in using the principles of swimming and aquatic exercise for fitness and rehabilitation. We work as a complement to, not a replacement for, formal medical therapy.
Absolutely. In fact, most of our recovery clients are not swimmers. The focus is on specific, gentle movements in the water to achieve your rehabilitation goals, not on learning to swim laps.
